Assalaamu 'alaykum (Peace be upon you).

Thank you for taking the time to visit this humble website; inshaa Allaah (God willing) you will find it beneficial.

My name is Jonathan Cazalas,  known also by my Muslim name, Yahya Cazalas.  I was born and raised in a conservative Catholic family, right outside of New Orleans, Louisiana.  I accepted Islam in 1999, after years of studying religions, specifically Christianity and Islam (click here for a video of my "story").  To be expected, I then became overwhelmed with a desire to learn Islam and a passion to spread this message.  After several years of studying Islam stateside, I traveled overseas to learn Arabic and continue my Islamic studies.

Upon returning, I continued my secular education, receiving a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida, and I am presently pursuing a PhD in the same field.  I am currently living in sunny, Orlando, Florida with my wife and two children.  Along with conducting the day-to-day activities of my promotional products business of nine years, I am active in Da’wah, giving Friday khutbahs at a variety of local masaajid, presenting introductory talks on Islam at Churches, Universities, and other Professional organizations, and conducting educational, Islamic workshops, often with a focus on giving da’wah to non-Muslims.

A Verse From the Quraan

“For we assuredly sent amongst every people/nation a prophet, with the command, worship Allah and avoid false gods.”

     Quraan, 16:36

Prophetic Hadeeth

"Purification is half of iman (faith). Saying 'Al-Hamdulillah' (Praise be to Allah) fills the scales. Saying 'Subhanallah wa al-Hamdulillahi' (Exhalted be Allah and Praise be to Allah) fills the space between the heavens and the earth. Salah (prayer) is a light. Sadaqah (charity) is a proof. Sabr (patience) is a shining glory. The Qur'an is an argument either for you or against you. Everybody goes out in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves."
