Eid Al-Fitr Khutbah, 2010

Eid Al-Fitr Khutbah in 2010, delivered to the Muslim community in Daytona Beach, Florida, with the following topics discussed in brief:

(1)  We celebrate the GREATEST gift that Allaah has given to His servants:  the gift of Islaam!

(2)  The large gathering on the day of Eid, and any large gathering for that matter, makes us remember and reflect upon the fact that we will ALL be gathered together again, a day with grave consequences:  the Day of Judgement.

“O mankind!  Have taqwa of your Lord.  Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him!  Verily, the earthquake of the Hour is a tremendous thing.  Indeed, the earthquake of the Day of Judgment is a terrible thing.”

Are you ready for that day?  Are you prepared for that day?

(3)  A message for our sisters in Islaam:  be proud of being a good Muslim sister.  Be proud of the liberation that Islaam has given to Muslim women, and be proud of your role in society and your ever-important role in the family.

(4)  We ended with an advice on dealing and living with the precarious and often hostile climate in America, where haters of Islaam constantly fan the flames of hatred and paranoia.

How do we as Muslims respond?  What is the solution?

A Verse From the Quraan

“That is Allaah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things.  So worship Him, and make your worship exclusively for Him.”

     Quraan, 6:102

Prophetic Hadeeth

"O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice] : Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you (have need to) ask, ask of Allah; and if you seek help, seek help from Allah. Know that even if the Nation (or the whole community) were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded for you, and that if they gather together to harm you with something, they would not be able to harm you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried."
